I’m Anaiis Salles, the founder of Growing for Good: Philadelphia. Growing for Good:Philadelphia is the urban farming operation of Green Sanctuary Earth Institute of Pennsylvania. The mission is the same for both organizations: Redistributing health and wealth through fresh food access.
As a grower with City Harvest Growers Alliance, in May of 2011 the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture recognized me as a farmer, eligible to operate a farmer’s market, one of a handful of African American farmers working in the local foods area in the state of Pennsylvania. I look forward to sharing stories of how Mother Earth has made a farmer out of a very unlikely candidate. I finally have a nickname: ‘Shorty McFarmer’.
g4gPH has many partners who are part of our growing for good story and, I hope, in time some of our partners will contribute posts on their green endeavors and adventures.
Uncluttered and simple, on this blog you will find updated recipes, news about g4gPH community food hub experiences, and other interestingdetails about growing for the good of our Philadelphia Community.
